These tips will come in handy if you are just about to create a Facebook account or just require some tips on cyber-wellness. Again, Hear Our Say requires only four but I have an extra.
1. Never reveal your personal data such as contact numbers, address (basic common knowledge), current location or other data that might give away your location or other personal things. Be alert and do not let slip data accidentally.
2. Be careful and always be alert, as you might think these cases are extremely rare but they are actually fairly common. The easiest target is someone who lets his/her guard down because he/she thinks it will never happen to themselves.
3. Do not believe everything you see on Facebook as there will surely be a PWHHI that is faking at least one thing about him/herself. Examples: Age, gender etc.
4. If you receive a friend request from someone whom you are not familiar with, please reject it immediately even if you think it will benefit your game progress. If you encounter a friend who changes his/her name on Facebook (not that you would know, so reject it first.) Examples from some of my old friends: Alexis Lee becomes Alexis lovestomakealotofnoise (Loves to make alot of noise) and Rachel Yeo becomes Rachel SupercuteYeo. Just go to school and confirm their Facebook name then send a request to them.
5. If you encounter any cyber-bullies or have any problems online, do not hesitate to tell your parents. If you do not wish to, you can always go to the school counsellor or call up any help-line.
Hope you find the tips useful. :]
